Peer Review Process
A peer-review process is used by the International Journal for Research in Molecular Immunology (IJRMI) to maintain high academic quality of the manuscripts published, to check the publication originality, scientific validity and ethical standards. It also focuses on a fair outcome of the review process in line with acceptable standards of publication ethics (e.g., Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)).
1. Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts are submitted via the online submission system of the journal. Once received, the editorial office logs the manuscript and conducts an initial assessment of suitability for the journal before sending it out for peer review.
2. Initial Editorial Evaluation (3–7 Days)
The editorial team conducts an initial screening to determine whether the manuscript is suitable for further consideration. The assessment includes:
- Alignment with the journal's scope
- Scientific relevance and quality
- Manuscript structure and formatting
- Originality and similarity assessment
- Compliance with research and publication ethics
- Completeness of required submission information
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements or fall outside its scope may be declined at this stage.
3. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial evaluation are sent to qualified independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
The reviewers assess:
- Originality and scientific contribution
- Research objectives and methodology
- Accuracy and validity of results
- Scientific interpretation and discussion
- Quality and relevance of references
- Clarity and organization of the manuscript
- Ethical considerations, where applicable
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist the editorial team in reaching a publication decision.
4. Decision
After receiving the review reports, the editorial team evaluates the reviewers' comments and the overall quality of the manuscript. Possible decisions include:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors receive the editorial decision and relevant reviewer comments where applicable.
5. Revision
When revisions are requested, authors should carefully address the reviewer and editorial comments and submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.
Authors may be required to:
- Address each reviewer comment
- Clearly indicate changes made to the manuscript
- Submit a revised version of the manuscript
- Provide a response to the reviewers' comments
A revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
6. Final Decision
The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized member of the editorial team after considering the peer-review reports, author revisions, and overall academic merit of the manuscript.
7. Publication
After acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to the publication stage, which may include:
- Final editorial checks
- Proofreading
- Formatting and layout
- Author confirmation where required
- Online publication
The accepted article is published online following completion of the journal's production and editorial procedures.
Ethical Responsibility
Throughout the peer-review and publication process, IJRMI follows responsible publishing practices consistent with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All participants in the publication process are expected to maintain:
- Confidentiality of manuscripts
- Transparency in communication
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest
- Research and publication integrity
- Respectful and professional conduct
